Wayne D. Corcoran, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Wayne Dale Corcoran, 96, of Ottawa, IL, passed away peacefully November 7th, 2024 at the La Salle County Nursing Home with his family by his side.

The visitation will be held at Ottawa Funeral Home on Thursday November 14th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The service will follow at 11:00 am with Father Justin Ramza officiating. Military Honors conducted by the local Ottawa American Legion Post 33 will follow at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Wayne was born November 8th, 1927, in Ottawa, IL, to Russel and Margaret (Mehall) Corcoran. He married Patricia (Meyer) Corcoran on September 17th, 1949 in Ottawa, IL.

He worked at Illinois Office Supply as a printer and bookbinder. After retiring, he worked in the logistic department at Walmart. Wayne served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of The American Legion, Twilight Travelers Club, and coached Pony League Baseball; where he took the team to the Midwestern Championships. He enjoyed fishing, camping, working on cars, taking care of his yard, and eating at the Hi Way Restaurant. Wayne also enjoyed attending the Cardiac Care at OSF with friends. He took pride in watching his grandchildren at sporting events and at various school activities.

He is survived by his Daughters; Cindy Buckingham, Lori (Guy) Ford, Grandchildren; Ashley (Jake) McCullough, Tiffany Buckingham, Chris Ford, Courtney (Dave) Losby, Great Grandchildren; Ella Losby, Jack Losby, Emery Losby, Mara McCullough, Luke McCullough, Mia McCullough, Avery Buckingham, Madi Canty, Great-Great Grandchildren; Leo Buckingham, Ezmae Buckingham, Sister; Judy (Bob) Dubach, & Fur Buddies; Parker & Ernie.

Wayne was preceded in death by his loving Wife; Patricia Corcoran, both Parents, and Dear Friend Puggy Dahlem.

Pallbearers will be Jake McCullough, Luke McCullough, Chris Ford, Bob Dubach, Terry Willet, Doug Green, Dave Buckingham & Jimmy Essl.

Honorary pallbearers will be Professor Hans Andrews, Ernie Carter, Ron Callahan, Roger Moore, & Dennis Shaughnessy.

Memorials may be directed to Pet Project or St. Jude’s.

Wayne was laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL.
