Lillian K. (Leki) Solberg, 101, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Pleasant View.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday April 22, 2023 at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa with Msgr. Mark Merdian, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home Ottawa.
Lillian was born on February 22, 1922 in Ottawa to Joseph and Mary (Good) Leki. She married Robert C. Solberg on March 15, 1949 at St. Mary’s Church in Naplate. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, Catholic Daughters of America, Ottawa Elks Lodge, TOPS, VFW Auxiliary, various bridge clubs, and volunteered at the hospital.
The world was blessed with Lillian’s quick wit, kindness, and card playing skills for 101 years. For that, we are truly grateful.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Diane K.) Solberg of Ottawa; two grandchildren, James (Emily) Solberg and Carrie (Michael) Zalewski; eight great grandchildren, Andrew, Keith, Reese, Henry, Annabelle, Ellamae, Cecilia, and Jackson; two sisters, Henrietta Quinn and Dorothy Gibson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on May 9, 1995; a daughter, Diane L. Solberg; four brothers, Joseph Jr., Edmund, Leo, and Stanley Leki; and a grandson, Keith Solberg.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Church, Mercy Home in Chicago, or the Ottawa Food Basket.
Lillian has been laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in the Sanctuary of Love at Oakwood Memorial Park.
