Ronald L. Anderson, age 82, of Ottawa passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Parker Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.

Per Ronald’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care.

Ronald was born February 22, 1940, the son of Ralph and Emma (Anderson) Anderson in Ottawa, Illinois. Ronald grew up and attended school in Ottawa. He went on to proudly serve his country in the National Guard. Ronald worked as a brick layer for many years and also as a boiler maker. His proudest work, however, was sharing the word of God and bringing others into the Christian faith. Ronald liked to hunt, fish, work on puzzles and travel. He liked being around people and helping them anyway he could. If something needed fixed, he could usually rely on some duct tape to get the job done. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be missed.

Ronald is survived by his children, Melissa, Rick York and James York; sisters, Mary Olson, Laurie Effert and Patricia Anderson; several grandkids, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joanne Hughes, Roxie Scerini, Sharon Fessler and Irene Donahue; and his brothers, Marty Anderson, Fred Anderson, Michael Anderson, and Ralph Anderson.

Ronald has been laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion at Oakwood Memorial Park.
