Dolores I. Rowlee, age 94, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.
Private family services will be held with interment at Oakwood Memorial Park. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Dolores was born July 13, 1928 in Ottawa, a daughter of Roy A. and Blanche (Herbert) Drinen. She married William Franklin Rowlee December 15, 1946 in Ottawa. He preceded in death March 4, 1985. Surviving are her sons, William F. (Rhonda) Rowlee, Jr. of Holland, MI, Eric (Rose) Rowlee and Thomas (Denise) Rowlee all of Ottawa. She also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. A sister, Ruth Anderson preceded her in death.
Dolores was a devoted Bible reading believer who enjoyed Shepherd’s Chapel on television. She was a “radium girl” for a brief time for Radium Dial. She later worked at Thompson’s Food Basket and Fred Tress Jewelers. Dolores belonged to bridge club from the time she was in high school until recently when the club disbanded. She played golf until her health caused her to stop. She was proud of the fact that she lived entirely independent of needing assistance with household chores and had just recently renewed her driver’s license. She will be dearly missed by her loving family who meant the world to her.
She was laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion.
