Doug G. Kandell, 59, passed away at his home in Oshkosh on March 13,2022. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday June 3, 2022 in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park, with Rev. Duane Kaufman, officiating.
He was born on July 15, 1962 and was raised in Tinley Park, IL. He is survived by his mother, Roberta (Nolte) Kandell; brother Gary Kandell; niece Rachel Kandell and nephew Ryan Kandell. He was proceeded in death by his father, Hans Kandell.
Doug worked as a pressman at a printing company and later moved to WI. Doug was an avid Sawdust Days volunteer and was famous for his fur hats that he wore no matter how hot. Doug was a very good horseshoe player and a sometimes-angry golfer. Except the day he got a hole in one at Farvu Golf Course. He didn’t throw his clubs that day. Doug never lost his love for Chicago. Very tough being in Packer country sometimes. But he knew the Bears only lost to the Pack if the refs cheated. Doug suffered all his life with debilitating arthritis in his body – he had dozens of surgeries as a child. In spite of that Doug loved being with friends, boating, fishing, golfing and just laughing!
Doug’s family would like to thank Jimmi Todd for his loving care of Doug during his final days.
He was laid to rest in the Garden of Hymns.
