Pearl E. Pastorik, 86, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at home, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, with Rev. Randy Mortenson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.
Pearl was born on February 15, 1935 in Wallace Township, to Thore and Myrtle (Boe) Alsvig. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, class of 1954. Pearl married Robert F. Pastorik on April 28, 1956 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell, and she and her husband also owned and operated P and P Cleaners. Pearl drove community members to their cancer appointments, as well. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church.
She is survived by 5 children, Robert (Deb) Pastorik of Des Moines, IA, Ronald (Cindy) Pastorik of Ottawa, Randall (Kari) Pastorik of Marseilles, Robeth (Larry) Parisot of Ottawa, and Renee (Rod) Brady of Marseilles; daughter-in-law, Melynn Pastorik, of Port Charlotte, FL; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne (Sharon) Alsvig of Marseilles; two sisters, Omi Jovanovich of Shelby, MT and Sandra Wilson of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, on November 29, 2007; her son, Richard Pastorik; three sisters, Mildred Alsvig, Thelma Kyle and Arlene Nickle; and two brothers, Marvin and Marshall Alsvig.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Nathan, Ryan, Jason and Jordan Pastorik, Andrew Kennealy, Riley Brady and honorary pallbearer will be Thore Pastorik.
She was laid to rest in the Garden of the Ten Commandments.
