Margaret “Peg” Reynolds, 80, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am, prior to services, at the funeral home. For those attending the services, you will be kindly asked to wear a mask and follow local guidelines on social distancing. Peg will be buried at Oakwood Memorial Park.
Peg was born June 21, 1940 in Ottawa to Francis Hollenbeck and Margaret (Koenig). She married Dean Reynolds on November 24, 1960 in Ottawa. She worked as a secretary for St. Patrick’s Church and Christ Episcopal Church for many years. She was a member of St. Columba and St. Patrick’s Church choirs.
Peg was a lifelong learner and had a thirst for knowledge. She was passionate about things she loved, and always enjoyed good conversation. She was an avid reader and loved doing any kind of puzzle. Peg was ahead of her time in the technology world and was always up to date on world events. She loved going for long car rides and out to eat with her husband, family, and friends. She also made and repaired jewelry and collected antiques.
Peg is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dean; her son, Ron Reynolds; three grandsons, Joshua Lee, Adam Michael, and Nathan Jerome (Brandy); three sisters, Judy (David) Meling, Marie (late Willy) Newcomer, and Sherry Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Hollenbeck and Margaret Iverson; and her sister, Pat Leach.
She was laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
