Cecelia M. (Schomas) Crisler, 90, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Thursday, August 22 at St. Patrick’s Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory. Private burial will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date.
Cecelia was born March 26, 1929 in Ottawa to Charles and Daisy Schomas. She married Fred L. Crisler on July 26, 1947 at St. Francis of Assisi Church; he passed away May 3, 2006. Cecelia was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She was an avid crocheter and loved playing Monday Night BINGO at the Knights of Columbus.
She is survived by her children, Fred (Charla) Crisler, Dianna Martin, Gail (George) Orr, Keith (Sandra) Crisler, and Penny (Doug) Boose; twelve grandchildren, Austin and Lacy Crisler, Cynthia, Renea, and Shawn Martin, George (Katie) Orr, Gina (David) Orr-Martinez, Allie (Adam) Crisler-Guest, Justin Crisler, and Nick, Connor, and Lilly Boose; five great-grandchildren, Russell, Keira, Logan, Brayden, and Cole; and three sisters, Annetta Wild, Norma Brenbarger, and Rose Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Dustin Crisler; and eight siblings, Francis Heath, Melvin Schomas, Ben Schomas, Bernadine Wilson, Bob Schomas, Burt Schomas, Dee Bell, and Gerty Helland.
Pallbearers will be Austin Crisler, Shawn Martin, George Orr, Justin Crisler, Nick Boose, and Connor Boose.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Cecelia has been laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
