Sandra L. Reynolds, 77, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 9 at the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa at a later date.
She was born December 18, 1940 in Taylor County, KY on Bass Ridge to Gilbert and Yvonne (Combs) Farmer. In 1959, she was married John F. Reynolds of Ottawa, who preceded her in death in 1995.
Sandy was employed as a CNA at Rivershores, worked for Bowl-Rite Lanes for over thirty years, and enjoyed babysitting. Sandy’s door was always open, especially around the holidays, with home cooked meals for family and friends. As a loving grandmother, she enjoyed showing recent pictures of her grandchildren. Sandy was a very independent woman, her house, landscaping and gardens were always immaculate. She loved visiting with friends while getting ice cream at CP’s in the park. She was a die-hard Cubs fan.
She is survived by one daughter, Denna (Marcus Withey) Hall of Ottawa; four sons, John “Ernie” of Ottawa, Mark “Big Head” (Carol) of Wenona, Tom (Heidi) of Ottawa, and Jim “Vern” of Marseilles; ten grandchildren, Mindy, Matthew, Michael, Dylan, Tommy, Jon, Christian, Morgan, Evan, and William Sean; 4 great-grandchildren, Emma Lynn, Finn, Frankie, Piper Willow and one on the way, Reagan Jane; two sisters, Barbara (Benjamin) Flynn of Ft. Meyers, FL and Rachel (Lewis) Pomatto of Ida, IL; five brothers, Gerald of Seattle, WA, Michael of Rock Falls, James “Jabo” (Kathy) of Marseilles, Danny (Linda) of Sweetwater, TN, and Denny of Austin, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, John; and her oldest brother, Randell Farmer.
Memorials may be given to the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Sandy has been laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
