Dorothy (Anderson) Mazza, 99, of Ottawa, died on Tuesday July 24, 2018 at Aperion Care in Spring Valley. Funeral Services will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa with Deacon Rex Hanson, of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating.
Dorothy was born on May 28, 1919 in LaSalle to Wilbert and Margaret (Myer) Anderson. She was a 1937 Graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. She worked for 42 years at L.O.F until her retirement in 1977. She married Salvatore Mazza on April 11, 1947 in Ottawa. Dorothy was a member of the Chirst Episcopal Church, AARP, the Glassworkers Local 19, and the Ottawa Moose Lodge.
Dorothy is survived by her son Meredith Mazza, of Utica; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Mazza, of Flower Mound, TX, Lesley (Scott) Lee, of Allen TX, Gregory Mazza, of Utica, and three great-grandchildren, Sydney Lee, Jordan Lee, and Morgan Mazza.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 24, 2005, and her daughter Margaret “Peggy” Mazza.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Episcopal Church.
Dorothy has been laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Hope.
