OTTAWA — Darrell D. Satterfield, 84, of Ottawa, passed away Dec. 4, 2017, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Knights of Columbus Hall, 401 W. Main St., Ottawa, with a luncheon to follow.

Darrell was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Ottawa, to Cedric and Gladys (Johnsen) Satterfield. He married Florrilla Votaw on Dec. 27, 1952.

 Darrell served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He served as a fireman with the Ottawa Fire Department. He owned and operated Satterfield & Sons Construction for many years and later pursued a career with Shaklee Corporation with his wife, Flo.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Flo; and sister, Sandra Stipp, of Streator. He also is survived by daughters, Kathleen (Ron) Huisman, of Nevada, and Jenifer (Charles) Britton, of Arizona; and sons, Randall, of Louisiana, Gregory (Lori), of Illinois, and Jeffrey (Tina), of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He embraced his faith at age 24 and invested 60 years in his eternal future. He naturally shared spiritual conversation and had a testimony that inspired many. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Darrell has been laid to rest in Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL, Garden of the Last Supper.
