Pamela J. Mitchell, 70, of Springfield, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Heritage Health in Springfield.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, April 3 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Harrison officiating. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 am, prior to services, at the funeral home. She will be buried at Oakwood Memorial Park.
Pamela was born November 12, 1947 in Ottawa to Samuel R. and Birdie J. (Beguin) Warrick. She married James A. Mitchell Jr. May 25, 1972 in Ottawa; he passed away on January 26th, 1977. Pamela received a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Illinois State University and further education from Fresno Pacific University. She taught special education for many years in Illinois and California, from which she retired. She loved spending time with her family, watching racing, reading, studying the bible. She belonged to First United Methodist of Springfield, Illinois.
She is survived by her children, Buddy Clark, Byron (Jamie) Mitchell, and Jason Mitchell; her stepson, James (Fran) Mitchell; three step-daughters, Letitia (Steve) Martin, Patricia Sue Mitchell, and Sherry Bentley; grandchildren, Logan Ebblherr, Samantha Mitchell, Jarod Mitchell, Bill Bentley, James Bentley, Tony Bentley, Laurie Thomas, Stephanie Cogdal, Nicole Parker, Christopher Martin, and Becca Moon; and two sisters, Debra (Mark) Cline and Linda (James) Tri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Don Warrick; and her son-in-law, Mick Bentley.

Pallbearers will be Byron Mitchell Jason Mitchell, Stephen Warrick, Jarod Mitchell, James Tri and Michael Tri.
Pamela has been laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
