Helen C. Curran, 105, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rosary at 3:30 with The Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park.
Helen was born October 26, 1912 in Ottawa, Illinois to Michael and Josie (Cover) Farrell. She married Thomas Curran on August 16, 1982 in St. Mary’s Church in Tomahawk, Wisconsin; he passed away August 16, 1992.
She was a Gold Star Graduate from Mother Cabrini Hospital Class of 1934 and was a nurse for 45 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and American Legion Auxiliary Post #235.
She is survived by her step-son, Thomas F. (Ruth) Palatine, one sister, Alice Cox, many nieces and nephews; her very good friend, Judith A. Ortiz; and all of her caregivers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Willis Farrell, Francis Farrell, Jimmy Farrell and one in infancy; and one sister, Hazel Serby.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s Church.
Helen has been laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Memory.
