Robert J. Vicich, 65, of Marseilles, passed away on Friday August 12, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday Aug. 17, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marseilles with Father Anthony Ego officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 4-7 p. m. Tuesday at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rosary services at 7 p. m.
Bob was born August 15, 1950 in Ottawa to William and Lucille (Jansen) Vicich. In 1978, he married Diana Spears of Ottawa who survives.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marseilles. He had been employed by Nabisco, Federal Paper and Field Container. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in geology. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Bob is survived by his wife, Diana of Marseilles; one daughter, Amy (Corey) Rickey of Ottawa; two sons, Chris of Ottawa and Scott (Sheila) of Marseilles; five grandchildren, Irene and Genevieve, Emma Vicich and Eoban and Eoin Rickey; his mother, Lucille Vicich of Port Richey, FL; and one brother, Richard (Linda) Vicich of Oglesby.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, William.
Pallbearers will be Charles and Dan Shreve, Joseph, Joe and Derek Vicich and Scott Carretto.
Bob has been laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
