Ruth A. (Siegert) White, 99, of Pontiac, formerly of Ottawa, died on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Pontiac Healthcare and Rehab, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Mueller Funeral Home with Rev. John Walker, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Ruth was born on June 14, 1916 in Ottawa to Walter and Effie (Cole) Siegert. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Ruth married Walter White on July 14, 1940, in Davenport, IA. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa, the Church Circles, and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of AARP, Home Extension, amd served as a 4-H leader for over 30 years, volunteered at Community Hospital for many years, and was a member of the Twilight Travelers Camping Club.

Ruth is survived by one daughter, Dorothy (Rod) Patterson, of Pontiac; 4 grandchildren: Rebecca Patterson, Eric (Jessica) White, Scot White, and Heather Williams, and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, on December 9, 1996, a son John White, a daughter in law, Pam (Bernadini) White, a daughter, Betty White, a brother Albert Siegert, 2 sisters Helen Hiney and Grace Eckerman, and 2 nieces, Sandra Siegert and Kay Miller.

Memorials may be directed to Pontiac Health Care activity department or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Pallbearers will be: Eric White, Ethan White, Scot White, Heather Williams, Rebecca Patterson, and Joe Buckley.

Ruth is laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
