Mary M. Blossy, 82, of Ottawa, died Monday evening, October 5, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, October 10, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. Cheri Stewart, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating, Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Mary was born November 28, 1932 in DePue, Illinois to Emil and Mary (Fernandez) Gutierrez. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in LaSalle. Mary was a registered nurse for 40 years at Ryburn-King, then Community Hospital of Ottawa. She volunteered for the Ottawa Red Cross and Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa and she was involved in various church activities.
She married John W. Blossy on January 8, 1955 in DePue, Illinois.
Mary is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Mary Beth Blossy of Ottawa; Kathy (Brad) Holcman of Oglesby; four grandchildren: Chad (Ashley) Holcman, Christopher (Rebecca) Holcman, Ryan (Linda) Holcman, and Katie Beth Holcman, a half-brother Joseph Fernandez, and a half-sister, Margaret Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Emil Gutierrez, and one sister Alice Gross.

Mary is laid to rest in the Garden of Psalms.
