COLUMBIA, MO. — Roberta J. Norman, 96, of Columbia, Mo., died peacefully on Friday morning, May 8.
Mrs. Norman was born June 15, 1918, in Ottawa, the daughter of Joe and Faye Perrot. She married Orville Norman, on February 3, 1938. He died in 2001.
She is survived by three daughters, Roberta Gill, of Columbia, Mo., Carol Sampson, of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Barbara Elledge, of Lone Jack, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Kenneth; and daughter, Donna (Lloyd) Smith; great-grandson, Jacob Adams; her parents; sister, Marjorie Fisher; and brothers, Allen and Richard Perrot.
She leaves the world a legacy of 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Roberta was a loving mother, wife, homemaker and dear friend to many. She was the secretary-bookkeeper for Johnson Machine Shop for several years while the kids were in school, and then a partner entrepreneur with Orville in various real estate and fine dining restaurant businesses. They retired in California and spent their days traveling the antique trade show circuit and “RV”ing the USA. In 1994, the couple returned to the Midwest, settling in Columbia to be near their family.
