Richard R. “Dick” Terry, 65, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. John Waugh officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Shine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park.
Dick was born August 15, 1949 in Ottawa, to Richard Jr. and Betty (Monroe) Terry. He married Karen Tress on February 21, 1986 in Candlelight Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas NV.
Dick graduated from Marquette High School in 1967 and from Morrison School of Drafting in Morrison, IL. He was one of 3 founders of New-Tech Marketing, Inc., a Manufacturer’s Representative Organization and served as President. He was currently working for the company as the Business Manager.
He was an avid golfer and won both Da-De-Co and Pine Hills 1978 golf tournaments. He loved spending time at his home in Hayward, Wisconsin on the Chippewa Flowage and was an outstanding crappie fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, one son Ryan (Stephanie) Terry of Carte Madera CA. two grandsons Rhys and Declan, his Step-Mother, Rosemary Terry, of Ottawa and his sister Roberta Aubry of Ottawa, and many nieces and a nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Aaron in 1998.
Pallbearers will be Dave Brue, Phil McDowell, Bill Bernardoni, Al Leonard, Fred Fahlstrom and Kevin Allen.
