Darlene Helen (Winchester) Wilson, age 80, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Pastor David Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m till 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Chad, Kobe, and Dusten Wilson, Michael and Ken Hicks, and Craig Eiben.  Honorary pallbearers will be Micah Wilson, Bob McLaughlin, and Carl Dimmick.

Darlene was born September 6, 1934 in Ottawa, the daughter of Luther and Alice (Moreland) Winchester.  She married William “Bill” Wilson January 31, 1954.  Darlene is survived by her children, Steve and Jim Wilson and Darla Keegan, all of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Dusten, Chad, Maize, Tannie, Micah, Kobe, and Nichelle Wilson; Nick Keegan, and MacKenzie Knight; her great grandchildren, Hueston, Brayden, Emma, Charlotte, and Korra Wilson; her sisters, Naoma Harcharik, Delores Eiben, Alice Maltas, Maxine Super, Joyce Allen, and Judy (Bob) McLaughlin; and her sister in-law, Karen (Carl) Winchester.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; two sons, William Edward Wilson IV and Michael James Wilson; one daughter, Vickie Wilson; her granddaughter, Kyla Marie Wilson; four brothers, Ronald, James “Harry”, Jackson “Jack”, and Carl Winchester; and two sisters, Ruth Schafer and Diane Hicks.

Darlene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Ottawa.  Her special interests included gardening and flowers.  Darlene was noted for her good sense of humor which many times made her the “life of the party.”  She loved life and cherished her grandchildren.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Darlene is laid to rest in the Garden of Hymns.
